I Finally Read “The Secret”

I had it since release, but didn’t touch it until now.

The World is in lockdown and I’m already sick hearing about it all every moment. Since my daily schedule was severly impacted by recent events, what better time than now, to give the bestseller by Rhonda Byrne a whirl. It was collecting dust in my book case for 14 years. The book was supposed to change people’s lifes for the better. At least, that’s what the marketing back then made you believe. How does the book hold up 14 years after it was published?

Here are my thoughts.

The premise

Masters, mentors and teachers around the globe knew a “Secret” for millenia and now it’s being brought into the mainstream, via a movie and a book, so everyone can have anything they ever wanted in their life. The universe will allegedly respond to the frequency of your wishes and guide them into your life.

Wow! Gotta try that!

Writing style

For the record: I actually read the german translated version.

It was all written in very simple and easy to understand sentences, regardless of the esoteric subject matter. Easy to follow. That can be a good thing, but…
