Quick ThinkPad Cleaning Guide

Make those smudges disappear

I am a huge fan of ThinkPads and I am not alone. ThinkPads, even close to 10 year old ones, are formidable computers for most everyday-tasks. They’re known for their sturdiness and keep their value much better than many competing laptops (except MacBooks). ThinkPads often still perform great, even years after their release, making them a budget-friendly and quality option for many.

But they smudge. A lot.

ThinkPads emit a subtle beauty, they look like a tool and they scream productivity. They’re tough as nails and their case is made either from very robust plastics or high tech magnesium alloys with a nice matte black coating that feels silky or rubbery to the touch.

But they smudge, oh so much.

Many avid ThinkPad users have gotten used to their computers looking like they just took it to some marrokan finger-food dinner and their local CSI team could have a fingerprint-field day over it.

Yep, it can get that bad. They like grime.

But fear not, if you’re not embracing your ThinkPad’s patina, there’s help. With a little love, alcohol and care you can have your ThinkPad look A-OKAY.

A few words of caution
