That's basically how fiction writing works though.

"If I enjoy genre XY, others do too."

It all boils down to the age old question:

Whom to write for?

- Yourself?

- Your audience?

- Market?

- The Algorithm?

Things become more convoluted and difficult the more "other" stuff trying to grab one's attention is out there.
