The oppression may be happening because of power structures. But those are not dependent on skin color. Everyone would be oppressive against others if given the chance. It’s that power corrupts and tends to make sure old structures stay in place to keep that power. It’s not about skin color at all. I get the feeling that many think the solution to oppression is to “oppress them back”. Also the the notion that someone with bright skin color is by nature oppressive, racist, responsible for cruelty that happened during all times of history and is privileged just because of their skin color is narrow-minded, offensive and short sighted at best.

Want to see change? Stop the infighting. Don’t care about movements, ideologies or skin color. Hold people in power responsible, create equal chances and give people autonomy over what path in life the choose. No one single person on this planet is better or worse than any other because of their skin, status, gender or sexual preference. If you believe this, you are creating the problem you are trying to fight.

Just my opinion, eager to hear others.
