What The RKI Report Reveals
How the numbers are widely misrepresented, despite reputable sources.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) is the leading provider of statistics and numbers for the EU, mainly Germany and Austria (where I live). The institute offers advice, statistics and predictions to the governments, their numbers are quoted on a daily — sometimes hourly — basis by the media.
Daily reports
Every day the RKI releases a report, about 10 pages in volume, that offers those much needed numbers and statistics, as a basis for further measures to be taken. If you go and read the report of 26th of March 2020 carefully, it reveals a very dangerous numbers game media networks are playing, spreading unneccessary panic amongst the populace.
Germany’s media is full of similar headlines like
“Another 2.000 New Infections!”
People are scared. What this headline actually means is, that 2.000 people have been tested positive for the virus. Not that they are necessarily sick and definitely not, that they are doomed to die. There is no mention of how many people were actually tested, to put things into perspective, or how many actually show symptoms…
