While it’s a step into “more reasonable” territory, I don’t think it’s a game changer — and if so, it’s a game Apple themselves have spoiled. So great, we’re back to a 2015 style keyboard after thousands of breaking butterfly keyboard. It still has only 2 ports, but I can forgive that on a machine branded as “Air” (I can’t on a “Pro” machine). And yes, the timing is terrible. Where I live people are worrying now about securing the food-chain and not going out of business. In the post-corona world Apple’s products will even more be reserved for the filthy rich than they are now, when many of us slide downwards from middle class. All that said, I still think as a concept and a value proposition it’s still the best thing that Apple has put out in 5+ years, luckily without that pointless touchbar. This could be a reasonable “writers laptop” all over again.
