Why You Should Try Cherry MX Clear Switches
Okay. I’ve been trying to scale back on my mechanical keyboard addiction quite a bit, because as a german language native, it’s not really a viable hobby to get into custom mechanical keyboards. Also, mechanical keyboards are a huge time and money sink and you’re always chasing “the next best thing”.
That said, the Ducky One 3 SF Classic finally came out in ISO-DE layout. It’s a hot-swap mechanical keyboard but you still get a lot of (Cherry) options to choose from. I’m not the biggest fan of Cherry switches (I used to love the Cherry MX Blue switches), but to be honest, all of them are serviceable for their purpose. Lately I found myself enjoying linear switches, coming from the clicky camp. I never enjoyed tactile switches much though and I think that Cherry brown switches are just awful.
But. What if they actually were more tactile?

They are really just that. More bump, slightly stronger feather. And hey, they have horrid spring ping, they are not as smooth as certain Gaterons, but… I like them. It’s refreshing having something completely new tickle your fingertips. So, if you’re too far down in the rabbit hole of mechanical…
